We have submitted a planning application for a substantial reworking of a detached house near Heathfield, East Sussex. The design consists of a new full-width rear extension that is highly glazed to make the most of the views out over the High Weald AONB, as well as full refurbishment and creation of a new top-lit stairwell and entrance hall. Start on site is scheduled for later this year.

We have been instructed by clients to design a new house within an historic Conservation Area near Lewes. A planning application will be made later this year.
November 2017
Our zinc-clad house refurbishment project in Lewes is now complete. The design uses a special technique where the zinc is laid as individual shingles to create a tiled effect. The zinc is contrasted with treated cedar cladding. The project also includes a substantial side and rear extension, complete renovation of the interior including a new double-height atrium space, new landscaping and a garden studio.

We're delighted to announce that our scheme for First Base in South-West London has received planning consent. The project is mixed-use development of 130 apartments, co-working space and new public park next to the River Wandle in Earlsfield. This image shows the lower terrace block, which has a mix of flats and town houses.

We have been appointed to prepare a revised planning application for a major mixed-use development in south-west London for First Base. The scheme will feature apartments, houses, co-working space as well as a new pocket park and riverside walk. The application will be submitted early in 2017.

Our modern garden studio near Lewes has received planning permission. Designed as a simple, shed-like form clad in black corrugated sheeting, it is designed to contrast with the adjacent main dwelling while sitting comfortably in its semi-rural setting. The interior features a double-height study, sleeping platform, WC and small kitchen space. Start on site will be later this year.

We have submitted a planning application for the refurbishment and extension of Vallance Hall, a former postal sorting office in Hove, to provide enhanced offices for Engleharts Solicitors, and five highly sustainable houses on the plot of land to the rear. The new extensions are expressed in a simple contemporary way that compliments but not mimics the existing building, with brick facades and concrete detailing.

We have completed a modest but highly sustainable extension to a house in Old Malling, Lewes. The exterior is clad in black-stained timber, with a zinc roof. The interior has a vaulted ceiling with exposed rafters to give a sense of space and drama, which is completed by the inclusion of doors to all three sides, allowing the space to open up to the beautiful, partially wooded setting on the edge of the Ouse valley.

We have been appointed on a significant project in Lewes - the complete refurbishment and extension of a large house on one of the town's premier residential roads. The brief is to reconfigure the layout of the house so it connects better with the beautiful garden and to add a range of spaces at the side, rear and top of the house. A planning application will be submitted later in the Summer with a view to starting on site later this year.

We have been formally appointed to undertake the full refurbishment of a Grade II Listed house in Kingston, near Lewes. The intention is to strip back later additions and modifications to reveal the original character and layout of the building, and to add a modern glazed extension at the rear.

We have been commissioned to design a highly sustainable, detached family house in the High Weald AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty), on a former light industrial site. Initial design is underway and a planning application will be submitted early in 2014.

We have been asked to review a number of properties for a new client, including this residential block in Croydon. We are undertaking a feasibility study to see if the building can be extended by using lightweight timber construction.

We have received the go-ahead to design the conversion of a large house in West Sussex into a care facility for young adults with severe learning disabilities. The focus of the project will be on creating a non-institutional feel that fosters independence and quality of life for the residents.

Great to see that Park Theatre, in Finsbury Park in London, is now fully open and has had great reviews for its first few shows. We collaborated with David Hughes Architects on the design, from concept to working drawings stage. The whole team led by Jez Bond have done a fantastic job taking it through the construction phase. Standing ovation!

We did a revisit to one of our projects that was completed in 2009 - a modern glazed extension in the Wallands area of Lewes. It was fascinating to hear that even though it is fully glazed on three sides, the high-performance windows and the highly insulated roof and floor mean that the owners actually rarely use the underfloor heating. It's now the most-used room in their house and they don't know how they ever lived without it...
